Dear Members,

Since implementing our new email interface and server back in March we've had several issues with the new system.

In mid-April I posted an article that informed you all of the steps we are/were taking in our troubleshooting efforts to resolve the stability issues going forward ( you can read that article here: http://members.intouchmi.com/blog/MemberNews/_archives/2007/4/12/2875072.html ).

All of our research and testing has pointed to a hardware conflict in the computer we put in place to handle the mail system.  So the time has come to fix the problem.

Let me introduce you to the NEW mail server that will be put into service soon:

MODEL: Dell PowerEdge 2950
PROCESSOR: TWO Dual Core Intel Xeon 5110 processors!
RAM: 4 Gigabytes 667MHz DIMMs
STORAGE: FOUR 73 Gigabyte 15,000RPM Hard Disks and TWO 146 Gigabyte 15,000RPM Hard Disks

Fixing/Upgrading the server we put in place back in March would cause too much downtime.  Replacing the server with this unit allows for limited downtime, and we can then do the proper upgrades to the other unit and put it into production in another purpose.

Once we get this new server into place, and have it running solid for a week or so, we'll be able to implement many of the additional email related services we have had planned.  Those added functions will help reduce the amount of Spam received.

As we progress with this task, updates will be posted here to keep you all in the loop.

As always, Thank You for your continued patronage of Intouch Internet.

Sincerely,

Charles Partridge
