Dear Members,

All went well and relatively smooth with the install of the power strips today.  Most services that were impacted were only down for a few minutes at the most.

We are in the process of installing new "remote accessible" power strips in our network cabinets.

The installation requires us to unplug power cords from the current power strips to move them to the new ones.  Most of our equipment has dual power supplies which should allow for seamless transfer to the new strips (one power supply at a time), however, there are a few computers that only have single power supplies.  These units will end up being powered down for a short period of time while we switch the cords to the new strips.

There may be some service effected by this upgrade, but much of it won't be very noticeable to you and the downtime will be very short on the units that need to be power cycled during this installation.

These new remote accessible power strips will allow us to have a faster response time in the case that any of our equipment should "hang" and be in need of a reboot.  We are able to access these power strips (via an internet connection) and actually cycle the power to the outlet the out of service computer is plugged into.

We do not expect any difficulties during this upgrade maintenance and as stated, most users will experience minimal, if any, downtime.

Thank You for your patience and your continued patronage of Intouch Internet!

Sincerely,

Charles Partridge
